Still Lifes & Whimsical Themes
Each of these paintings tells a story in time…
"Yesteryear" I had fun juxtaposing some vintage items to create their own story. 15" x 30" x 1.5" acrylic on canvas. $1,575.00

"The Color of Time" Looking back in time, and forward in time. The world before "the war to end all wars," and the consequences to people's lives and the history produced. Most of these characters lived during, and some after 1912, but all reflect the time they lived in. On the nearest bench: The fictional story of - Downton Abbey which came on the scene in 1912. The Earl of Grantham and his wife, and their domestic servants and the events that would take place and alter events in their lives forever. Walking towards them is a burlesque & Ziegfield Follies actress - Fanny Brice, 1891-1951 (she's wearing a costume coming into vogue) made famous by Barbra Streisand in "Funny Girl." To the right is the famous painter Monet, 1840-1926. The Girl with the Bike: fictional character Anne of Green Gables written in 1908 by Lucy Maud Montgomery. To her left: the famous and the vertically challenged: French chef & innovator Auguste Escoffier, 1846-1935. He needed to wear elevated shoes to reach the stove. He'd become known for establishing the importance of Lobster Thermidor, Béarnaise sauce, Bechamel, and Hollandaise sauces. He created Peach Melba. To his left would be a couple that would emerge later: Prince Charles and Lady Diana with young Prince William. 24" x 48" (unframed) acrylic on canvas. $4,600.00

"Napoleon's Hat" On the right, I painted a bust of Napoleon. What makes it interesting is that the clock was designed to look like Napoleon's Hat! Hence, the name of the clock. The Napoleon's Hat clock is a mechanical mantel clock first created in the early 1900s, but the silver one I painted was circa 1930s. 16" x 40" x 1.5" acrylic on canvas. $2,200.
